Submission

Submission Guidelines

Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your article.

  1. You are free to write about a variety of topics, ranging from current global issues to recent news and debatable subjects. However, please avoid topics that may be overly sensitive or highly controversial.
  2. We generally do not publish articles on repeated topics, so please check our previous editions to make sure your topic has not already been covered.
  3. Your article should be around 600-700 words. It can be longer if necessary, but please do not exceed 1,000 words, as this may affect our evaluation of your submission.
  4. Common mistakes to avoid:
    • Grammar and spelling: Please proofread your work before submitting. A well-developed article may still fall short if it includes avoidable errors.
    • Tone: We publish articles in a professional tone. Avoid writing in a style that is too casual and follow standard writing conventions.
    • Topic choice: Try to choose a topic that is unique and offers depth. Common topics like climate change or AI are often overused unless approached from a more specific angle.
  5. Your article must include at least three sources, which will not be counted in the word limit.
  6. All articles must be original and written solely by the author. Plagiarism is not permitted, and any article suspected of plagiarism, including those that heavily rely on external sources for ideas or wording, will be rejected.
  7. The use of AI is not allowed, except for idea generation. Additionally, we will not consider future submissions from writers whose work has been found to use AI beyond this purpose.
  8. The submission deadline is the 20th of each month. Articles submitted after this date will be considered for the following month’s edition and may take longer to be published.
  9. If you are submitting via Google Docs, please make sure to grant access for viewing and commenting so that our editors can provide feedback.
  10. Please notice that we may occasionally select writers for a short interview about their article before publication.
  11. Reviews of books or media that are not nonfiction works related to global issues or philosophical topics, or that are not affiliated with our partners, will not be accepted. Please contact us for approval beforehand.
  12. We do not accept articles that have been published elsewhere in any form or language, whether partially or fully.
  13. If your article has been published in Global Voice Journal (GVJ), please do not publish it elsewhere in any form or language. Violating this policy may result in the removal of your article.
